Best quad rail for a DPMS Oracle. Discussion in 'Rifle Country' started by tsudduth, Sep 30. I'm not real fond of how the magpul looks. I don't like the fact that you have to purchase and install the rails separately. I like the looks of the tradiional quad rail. It will do anything an aluminum drop-in quad rail will do, and it will do. Installing a 2 piece quad rail on a carbine length AR-15. I was told the Oracle has a low profile gas block, so most hand guards won't fit it. Does anyone make a free float quad rail that will fit it? The Midwest Industries Two piece drop in handguard is designed specifically for the DPMS Oracle carbine length.308 rifle. It is constructed from 6061 aluminum and is hard coat anodized for a lifetime of service. Jul 17, 2013  This is a DPMS panther arms oracle ar-15. I am modifying it with a quad rail I got for $35 off amazon. I made this video specifically for peeps like me that want to get a great deal but are new to.

So, I bought this rifle at a gun show yesterday for $780 including the optic, taxes, etc. I have a few questions.

  • I want to add a free float quad rail, or just a longer quad rail handguard if possible. I know the free float will be more expensive and slightly harder to install, but I feel it'll look better and allow the rifle to function better (especially shooting at longer distances). What would you do? Also, is there a free float quad rail out there that'll clear my gas block while matching up with my existing rails? Speaking of gas blocks..

  • Today, I took this rifle to the range. Tonight, while cleaning it, I noticed that one of the two set screws on the bottom of my gas block was almost completely loosened. The other set screw was not about to fall out, but was also slightly loose. Why does this happen, and should I expect it to happen often, or is it possible that the set screws just weren't tightened properly from the factory?

  • Also while at the range, there were a few occasions where I would fire one round, the gun would cycle, but the next round would not chamber. This happened approximately 10-15 times out of 500 rounds, but there were some times that I fired and entire magazine in <30 seconds without an issue. I was using Brown Bear 55 grain steel case .223. Is it possible it was just the ammo causing this issue?
