The Ruger Single Six, designed and manufactured by Sturm, Ruger& Co. The Single Six is a single action, six-shot revolver. Ruger, having spotted a gap in the market for single action revolvers (the Colt Single Action Army having gone out of production prior to the Second World War) came. A very interesting article. The standard Single-Six with dual cylinders (without the “Magnum” marking on the cylinder frame which will be covered in a separate series on the “Magnum Only” Single-Sixes) began to appear around 1961 in the 4-5/8, 5-1/2, and 9-1/2 inch barrel lengths.

Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. / SOUTHPORT, CONN. U.S.A.”, the left side is marked '1876 * Colorado Centennial * U.S. Bicentennial * 1776', the left side of the frame is marked “RUGER .22 CAL. / NEW MODEL SINGLE-SIX”, the right side is marked with the serial number. The butt of the grip frame is marked '1876 Colorado 1976'. The cylinders are roll marked with the Colorado Centennial markings on the circumference and have the last three digits of the serial number hand scratched into the fronts. The included case has the Colorado Centennial lid medallion and markings on the inside of the lid.
Barrel Length: 6 ½”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade, integral to a base that is screwed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched leaf in a base that is adjustable for windage and elevation, pinned to the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are smooth rosewood panels with silver-on-black Ruger logo medallions. The grips have not notable wear or damage. They are slightly shy to the frame. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blued, with Stainless Steel Grip Frame.
Finish Originality: Factory Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its metal finish. The barrel has a small, hairline scratch just in front of the ejector rod housing, the trigger guard has some light scratches on the bottom, the backstrap has two small marks, the .22 LR cylinder has a light, incomplete turn line and the .22 Mag cylinder has light marks between each cylinder-stop notch. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. There is minor play in each chamber in full lockup with no measurable back play. This pistol has Ruger's transfer bar safety. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a Colorado Centennial hard wood display case with a medallion on the lid and 'RUGER / COLORADO CENTENNIAL / 1876-1976' on the inside of the blue felt lined lid; the interior of the case has some compression and light dust, with a cut out for the included extra cylinder. The case has a few scuffs and compressions; the case is in Fine condition, the extra cylinder is in Excellent condition. Keys for the case are included as is a plastic ring in the .22 LR cylinder which allows for dry-firing without damaging the firing pin or cylinder.
Our Assessment: This is a Ruger Super Single-Six, which beautifully commemorates Colorado's 100th year, with a conversion cylinder allowing you to shoot .22 Short, Long, Long Rifle and Magnum cartridges! About 98% of the blue and stainless steel finish remains, the bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. The action functions correctly and if this does not end up with a collector, it should make for a darned fine varmint or informal target pistol, which has adjustable sights and a 6 1/2' barrel. If you are a fan of Colorado, Ruger or just fine revolvers, this one is a must for your collection. Please see our pictures and good luck!

All cartridge firing handguns (even C&R's and antiques) sold to a California resident must be DROS'd. This does not apply to out of state residents.

This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your dealer’s license with payment or faxed/emailed separately. We will need CFLC numbers for CA FFL’s to ship a firearm within California. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
We always combine on shipping to save you as much as we can. You can generally assume it will be full shipping charge on the first item, 1/2 on the second, 1/3 on the third, etc. Exceptions only arise when the items are going to different locations (different licenses), or when they are exceptionally large, heavy or valuable and cannot be combined.
