Kubota Serial Number Decoding

Some VINs were stamped on the frame, while others were screwed on after manufacture. These VIN tags identify details about the Chevy pickup such as the original engine model. This can help when replacing parts or trying to understand the pickup's history. Look Vehicles a metal tag or a stamped set of characters to find your Chevy VIN.

Where to Find the VIN on a Yamaha Rhino

VIN Location

The VIN on a Yamaha Rhino is etched into the frame behind a rear tire on the driver's side of the vehicle. If you cannot find the number on the vehicle, locate the ATV's certificate of title and registration, which also lists the VIN. Do not use the numbers stamped on the motor as it is only a serial number and not a VIN.

VIN Format

All Yamaha Rhino vehicles should have a 17-character VIN that aligns with ISO standards and describes specific characteristics of the ATV, such as the body style, engine type and assembly plant.

ATV History Check

The VIN can be used to run a vehicle history check to reveal major problems, such as major accidents, odometer tampering, fire or hail damage, owner history and whether it is a stolen vehicle. Many online services can retrieve background information by simply entering the VIN into the website's search page.

How to Find the VIN on a 1958 Chevrolet Truck

Check on the inside doorjamb by the driver's side. This is found when you open the driver door--it's the part of the door frame that is hidden when the door is closed. Look all along this frame for the VIN tag.

Look near the inner fender well on the driver side. This is located on the curved top frame above the front driver-side tire. If you don't see the VIN, check this area on all four wheel frames. Feel around with your hands for any tag or etchings, as it might have been painted over.

Call your local Chevrolet dealer, or visit the website and email support. Give them specific details about the truck. If you cannot locate the VIN, it is possible your truck may not be a 1958 Chevrolet. A Chevrolet parts expert should be able to discern the true origins. It is also possible that the VIN has been removed, since many VIN plates were screwed on and not stamped.

How to Find the VIN on Motorcycles

Most all of the serial numbers are readable. Cartier watch serial number check.

Turn your motorcycle's handlebars completely to the left. Look at the right side of the motorcycle's steering head, the area the front fork pivots against at the front of the frame. Write the 17-digit VIN number imprinted or stamped onto the side of the steering head onto a piece of paper.

Look on the left frame rail for a stamped plate or sticker containing the motorcycle's VIN number. These plates are typically found on most Japanese sport motorcycles, but may also apply to cruiser models.

Look under the rear of the motorcycle's frame. Some manufacturers will stamp the VIN onto a cross-member where the rear shock absorber is attached to the frame.

How do I Find a VIN on a Kubota Tractor?

Lift the tractor's hood. Look for the serial number plate on the valve cover, referred to by Kubota as a head cover. It is located on the top of the engine. If the numbers are obscured due to wear and tear or the plate was removed, each engine model has a second serial number location.

Shine your flashlight near the oil filter or engine mounting block. This may require crouching underneath the tractor and looking up. The serial number plate is found in this location on ZB600 and EL/EA series engines. If you cannot find the serial number, the tractor may have an engine from a different series.

Focus on the top of the tractor. When facing the tractor from the front, the injection pump is to the right. The serial number appears on the pump on Super Mini, 03 series, and WG/DF 752 and 972 engines.

Inspect the rear of the engine closest to the cab. Shine the flashlight on the engine to illuminate small parts. The serial number is on the exhaust manifold for an 05 series engine and a WG/DF 1005 series engine.

Greetings:
I recently got an old Ford backhoe/loader. It looks like a Ford tractor with a loader and backhoe added on. I can see the pto and where the three-point used to be.
I found the following numbers on the right side, engine block:
7A 16 B
34022A
C162107 7A
I'm trying to find out exactly what year, model etc. I have so that I can get parts when needed.
Thanks for the help!

SO no Sherman auxiliary trans then. That handle toward the rear of the tractor from the clutch is the PTO handle, which you can't really use because the backhoe is mounted on the rear of the tractor.

I wouldn't rule out using the PTO if a need arises because of the backhoe. The 750/753 backhoe uses the Ford four point mounting system and can be removed without a huge anount of effort (unlike a true purpose-designed TLB). I have a previous generation tractor/backhoe combo that uses the same mounting system (Ford 840 with 713 backhoe). Right now I have the backhoe demounted and am using the PTO to drive my rock crusher.

Take anything you find on tractordata.com with a grain of salt. They claim the 3400 was made from 1968-1975, but the picture they have of a 3400 shows the pre-1968 sheet metal.

That's why I posted here.. had trouble finding a good guide to decoding the serial on my own. When I started searching on the 3400, I kept coming up with information indicating that it started production in 1968.

Here's some additional evidence. Go to the link below at equipmentlocator.com. It shows a 1967 Ford 3400 similar to yours that sold in 2012 with a higher serial number but still 1967. If you click on 'Show All Pics (12)' and look at the left side back-to-
front picture, nose, I think that says 3400 (although detail lacking). You might try looking at the same place on your tractor and maybe scrape the paint in that area if it's been repainted.

BTW your loader is probably a 730 but the bucket is funky for a 730, I don't know what the story is there.

Re: Decoding Serial Number in reply to rotteko, 08-20-2018 16:07:45
Reason I called it a 3500 is because the info I was looking at said the 3400 wasn't introduced until 1968, his is a early 67 model so I determined it to be a 3500.
Farther search shows the 3400 starting in 65, with that info I'll retract the 3500 statement and agree with it being a 3400.
So much misleading info out there.

No, it would be down on the left side in front of the clutch pedal.

Re: Decoding Serial Number in reply to rotteko, 08-20-2018 16:07:45
Yes, it's a 3400 with gas engine, 4 speed trans and non-live PTO. Left the assembly line on January 16 1967 during the day shift. Just about the least expensive Utility model offered at the time.
Does it have a handle on the left side of the transmission housing down below the steering column? If so, then it probably has the Sherman reversing auxiliary transmission as well. The reverser would make it a better loader tractor.

34022A
3 = 3000 series
40 = utility model
2 = Gasoline engine
2 = trans pto
A = 4x1 trans
7A16B = build date Jan 16 1967 day shift
Serial # C162107 is consistent with a 67 year model tractor built in the US
Looks like you have a 67 model 3500 utility

I would read that as a 3400 not a 3500.
The 3500 was an industrial and would have a 50 in the model # not a 40.
Looks like the wishbone front end too - from what little I can see.

Model number 34022A: 3 is 3000, 40 utility version, 2 gas, 2 transmission PTO 540 RPM. Production date code 7A16B: 7 1967, A January, 16 16th of January, B Day shift. C162107 is serial number: C made in USA, 162107 is a 1967 serial number.

The loader and backhoe should have a separate tag. The backhoe is most likely a 753 (13 foot) or perhaps a 750 (10 ft).
